Fossil Fuels 2025

I went to bed happy the other night, having misread a news headline. I had thought that the UK had committed to stop burning fossil fuels by 2025 (the source with the misread subtitle). Alas, it was only coal. I must have been really tired!

Switching from coal to natural gas is better than switching from natural gas to coal, but we should be investing in renewables, not natural gas. I strongly suspect that our fossil fuel subsidies are still far higher than our renewables subsidies, as our fossil fuel subsidies were last year increasing when we had pledged to phase them out.
